With regard to the JFS case, the Appeal Court’s ruling need not be seen as an unmitigated disaster. It may possibly be a blessing in disguise. I want to stress that I think very highly of JFS as a school. It does outstanding work academically, and has also done good work in pastoral terms for many its pupils. I am grateful for the support it has given to many children of our congregants. However I have had a quarrel with the previous JFS admissions policy (as well as occasionally with its teaching of Judaism). |
